Wendy Pearson

Wendy Anne Holmes-Pearson passed away peacefully, at the age of 85, on Tuesday August 18, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA in 1941, Wendy was the daughter of the late Robert Calder Holmes, Jr. and the late Frances Givin Schofield. Wendy is preceded in death by her brother, Robert Calder Holmes, III.

She graduated from Abington High School in 1958 and received her associates degree from Lasell College in 1962.

Wendy and her ex-husband Bruce Pearson moved to York, PA in 1963. Wendy devoted her time to local organizations, helped to build their family home, and raised her two children. She returned to York College and began working as a mental health counselor. Her passion was working with and supporting people in York, PA for over 35+ years.

Wendy was an avid swimmer, loved gardening, art, dancing and travelling. She maintained her mother’s Philadelphia Orchestra seats and shared the joy of music by inviting friends and family to enjoy the concerts with her for over 35 years.

Wendy could make friends in a blink of an eye. She was the life of the party and had a smile that lit up the room. Her claim to fame was dancing the twist with Chubby Checker in Philadelphia. Wendy was also a supporter of animals both with charitable donations and owning countless dogs and cats over the years.

Wendy adored and was so very proud of both her extended and immediate family. Wendy is survived by her son Brian B. Pearson and wife, Jane M. Pearson, her daughter Melody P. Bish and husband, Joel P. Bish, her grandsons Jack, Joe, Owen and Beckham, and by her sister Mally H. Wilkinson.
