Vincent Thomas Buettner passed away on June 19, 2025. Vince was born to Joan & Roger Buettner in Trenton, New Jersey on April 9, 1960. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carole T. Buettner, his children - Meredith Buettner Schneider and husband, Jerry, Natalie Buettner and partner, Patrick, and Dillan Buettner and fiancé, Shea, and his beloved grandchildren - Miyuki, Gregory, Alaina and a baby boy due this fall to Dillan & Shea, carrying on the Buettner family name and legacy; as well as his siblings - Donna Edwards and husband, David, Doug Buettner and fiancé, Patty, and Karl Buettner and wife, Rayne, along with many nieces and nephews.
Vince graduated from Great Valley High School in 1978 where he played football, was a dedicated woodshop student, and made several lifelong friends. While Vince & Carole went to high school together, they wouldn’t date until Vince went to work for his future father-in-law, Edward F. Thomas, who taught him the art of carpentry. Vince was a proud tradesman and would go on to own and manage several businesses; he instilled hard work, entrepreneurship, and self-sufficiency in his children. Vince enjoyed gardening and tending to the chickens with Carole, cooking, fishing, any and all dogs, smoking a good cigar on the front porch, and playing with his grandchildren. Often found working on home projects, Vince followed in his father’s footsteps as a master at finding a solution and fixing things.
Vince was most proud of his wife, Carole, and their family and home they built together. He will be missed at every Friday Night Live, Sunday dinner, and those inevitable moments when something needs to be fixed or glued back together. He will be remembered with every hint of saw dust, puff of cigar, and bite of key lime pie. His legacy will live on in his children and grandchildren, who will always remember him as “Pops”.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA, in memory of Vince and his best buds - Tony, Brady & Kirby. Brandywine Valley SPCA, 1212 Phoenixville Pike, West Chester, PA 19380 https://bvspca.org/donate/donation-form.
