STONE SYLVESTER HERBERT Born November 15, 1928, only child of Seaborn and Laura Stone of Philadelphia, died of natural causes at age 95 on April 27, 2024 at Spring Garden Towers. Stone enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1946, serving as a Private in a segregated unit in Korea from 1946 through 1949. He later attended Delaware County Community College and became a machinist at SKF Industries. Known as Stone and Stoney, he was a true gentleman, jazz connoisseur, generous baker and foodie, oenophile, fisherman, good friend, known to grandkids as "Grampie Stone" and "Papa Stone," and beloved longtime companion of Anne Tapper. Memorial service will be private.
