Sheila Harris McCoy

Sheila Harris McCoy entered eternal rest on January 24, 2024, at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia PA.

Sheila was born March 29, 1953, in Plainfield NJ to the late Richard and Mamie Harris.  She is the youngest girl of 13 siblings.  She grew up in Scotch Plains New Jersey. She married the late Thomas E. McCoy and reared four children from this union.  

Sheila graduated from Scotch Plains-Fanwood High School. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and master’s degree in business communication.

Sheila resided in Philadelphia for 23 years.  She was a member of the A to Z Adult Day Care Center where she enjoyed shopping, dining out, taking trip and gossiping with the ladies. She also attended early morning prayer every day and bible study through Faith Holy Temple C.O.G.I.C. in Camden N.J.

Sheila is proceeded in death by her son Clifford L. McCoy and multiple siblings.  She leaves to mourn her life 3 sisters Brenda Spellman (Calvin), Adelaide Harris and Louise Brown all of Plainfield New Jersey. Daughter Shonda McCoy (Chris) of Henderson North Carolina, Richard Harris (Kira) of Somerset NJ, Latonya McCoy of Philadelphia PA. and God daughter Crystal Massicot. 6 grandchildren Keivonna, Tiana, Elijah, Jeremiah, Azirah, and Mackenzie and 7 great grandchildren and 1 best friend Lynette Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews and other family, friends and relatives.

*There will be a memorial service held for Sheila Harris McCoy Thursday February 1, 2024, from 6pm to 9pm at 2520 Plainfield Ave, South Plainfield NJ.
