Sandra McGettigan

Sandra “Sandy” Pompizzi Mcgettigan 74 years old, originally from Belmont Hills, PA passed at home on June 10th, 2023. 

 

She grew up in a close knit community, the only girl out of three brothers. It was in this community where she met her husband, Joseph McGettigan. 

They were married for 54 years. 

 

Once married, they moved to what was once a small rural town of Lionville, PA. They raised their two children, Patrick and Beth McGettigan, there. 

 

She was an avid reader and animal lover. Her house was always filled with some type of animal, including all the ones her children brought home, “because they needed a home.”

 

She spent her summers down the Jersey Shore with her family. Over the years she collected fond memories of Sea Isle City, NJ, hot dogs on the beach, reading a good book in the sun, and walking the promenade. 

 

When her children grew older, her and her husband became “snow birds”.  They would escape the winter months and stay in Naples, Fl. 

 

Everyone she met she would welcome them as a friend. She was the life of every party. She was generous and selfless. She would give you the shirt off her back (and actually has!). She was one of the most amazing wives, mother, and friend, you could meet in this lifetime. The world has lost a shining light of joy and laughter.
