Saba Yacoub Hanna, 80, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 8th, from complications of diabetes and end-stage renal disease. He was predeceased by his brother Sami Hanna Wakim, his mother Jamileh Hanna, and his father Yacoub Hanna. Saba is survived by his wife Maria and their sons, Jaymes and Jon-Pierre; and, in Lebanon, by his sister–in-law, Nouhad Hanna Wakim, her sons, Jacques and Johnny, and their families. At Saba’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held in Philadelphia. Saba’s family in his hometown of Eddeh Al-Batroun, Lebanon, has planned a mass for his repose at St. Saba’s Church on Saturday, 10/14/23 at 5 PM. He was a determined and loving family man. He dedicated himself so that his children would have a better education and more opportunity in their lives. Saba was a voracious reader; and he was always eager to learn and to freely share with others around him what he learned in his life experiences, connecting with people of all kinds wherever he went. He will be truly missed and always loved.
