Jim Chafin

In Loving Memory of James “Jim” Chafin, beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor, passed away onAugust 24, 2026, at the age of 75. He was born on May7, 1951, in Indiana.

Jim shared 40 years of marriage with his wife, Pauline Chafin (nee Uhniat). Together, they built a life filled with family, music, animals, friendship, and countless memories. After they retired, Jim and Pauline split their time between their homes in Holiday, Florida, and Hatboro, Pennsylvania, creating special connections and friendships in both communities. 

Jim was a proud father to his daughter, Julia Chafin, and father-in-law to her husband, Jeremy Willard. He was also a proud grandfather to his grandsons, Reid and Levi Willard. His family was an important part of his life, and he enjoyed the time they shared together.

Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 9 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. His commitment to serving others continued throughout his life. He was a strong activist who cared deeply about the causes and principles he believed in, and he was never afraid to speak up for what he felt was right. 

Music was another great love of Jim’s. A talented guitarist, he enjoyed playing music, writing his own songs, and recording many of them. His music was an important part of who he was and leaves behind a lasting piece of his creativity and spirit.

Jim also had an enormous heart for animals. He andPauline rescued many dogs throughout the years, with a particular passion for giving older dogs a loving home.They believed every dog deserved to know love and have a good life, especially those who might otherwise have been overlooked.

 Their home was often a safe haven for animals in need, reflecting Jim’s generous and compassionate nature.To know Jim, was to love Jim. He had an infectious smile, and a great sense of humor. He leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, service, and a life lived with kindness, heart and purpose.

Jim will be deeply missed by Pauline, Julia, Jeremy, Reid, Levi, his extended family, friends, neighbors, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at a later date.
