Robert Grow

 Robert C. “Bob” Grow Sr., 81, of Philadelphia, died Thursday, November 23, 2023, at home peacefully.
He was the husband of the late Constance M. (nee Tygh) Grow and father to the late Robert C. Grow Jr
and Katherine A. Grow. He was the son of the late John H. and Helen (nee McPeake) Grow. He is
survived by his daughters, Lori (Todd) Marvin, Holly (Michael) Murphy and Patricia Grow. He was the
“Best” Pop to Christopher, Todd, Robert and Michael Marvin, Joseph, and Harley Birkmire.

Bob was born and raised in the Manayunk area. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked for many
years for Connelly Containers (Bala Cynwyd, PA) where he was known for putting the Christmas tree on
top of their water tower that overlooked the 76 expressways. Retirement did not suit him, and he went
back to work as a security guard for Main Line Protection Services (Bala Cynwyd, PA), which he enjoyed.
He was a proud member of “AA” for over 40 years where he mentored and made lifelong friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to the Celebration of His Life on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at
10:00am at The Church of St. Alban 532 Fairthorne Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128. Interment is private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to The Church of St. Alban 532
