Robert (Bob) DiLuzio passed away peacefully at his home on December 25, 2025 at the age of 80. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cathy (Sheeran) DiLuzio, his son Bob DiLuzio & wife Katie and daughter Donna (DiLuzio) Choate & husband Rick; 4 grandchildren: Justin Choate & wife Kelly, Kayla (Choate) Siple & husband Tim; Dominic DiLuzio and Nick DiLuzio; 3 great-grandchildren: Cameron Choate, Ada Siple and Reid Siple; his sisters Ann (DiLuzio) Gouse & husband Mike, Carol (DiLuzio) Shultz, sister-in-law Jeannie (Sheeran) Petrarca, brother-in-law Jim Sheeran & wife Gina as well as many nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents: John DiLuzio and Adele (Umile) DiLuzio, his brothers Frank DiLuzio and John DiLuzio and his brother in-laws Tom Petrarca, Bobby Sheeran & wife Georgia Sheeran and Wes Shultz.

Bob was born in Philadelphia in 1945, grew up in South Philadelphia and attended Bok Technical High School. In his younger years he took great pride in, and was known for, the nice cars he owned and customized. He loved doo-wop music, South Philly of the 50’s and 60’s and driving to the Shore in Wildwood, NJ as fast as he could. It was in this magical era that he met his wife Cathy while they were still teenagers and began a life together that spanned 64 years. It was also during this time that Bob’s entrepreneurship sparked, and he opened his first business in South Philly.

Over the years, and with Cathy always by his side, he owned businesses in Southwest Philadelphia, Folcroft, Montgomeryville and Downingtown. When the Booth’s Corner Farmers Market was rebuilt and reopened in 1976, Bob was one of the original vendors selling ice cream and funnel cake for several years. This triggered moving the family from Southwest Philly to Boothwyn, PA. He would later return to the market when they expanded in 2008.

Bob was most known as the long-time owner of Just Ice Cream in Aston,PA which he owned for 30+ years beginning in the early 80’s. He created an old-fashioned ice cream parlor, crafted homemade ice cream and ice cream cakes that were the centerpiece of so many customer celebrations over the years. Most importantly, his family and their friends were right there with him. His wife, kids, grandkids, and many of their friends and extended family all had a chance to work side by side with Bob as he built a business that is an Aston icon for many.

In his retirement years, he worked at the Chic fil-A in the Concord Mall. This gave him an opportunity to continue meeting people and helping customers have a great experience. This was a gift because of how much he enjoyed sharing the business lessons he learned over the years with the staff. “Mr. Bob” was well known and loved.

Services will be privately held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bob’s honor to a charity that is important to you. Please enjoy some ice cream and remember him fondly!
