Robert (Bob) T. Chester Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023, at West Chester Rehabilitation and Health Care, West Chester, PA.
Bob lived all of his life in Delaware County PA. He especially loved Media where he started his humble beginning. He graduated from Media High School, Class of ‘57, got married, joined the Army Reserves and settled in Middletown Twp.
He was employed in the Supermarket Industry for 27 years until his semi-retirement and then delivered news papers for the Daily Times with the Chesters News Service which he owned and operated with his wife Joyce until full retirement.
One of Bobs favorite things to do was talking to people. He became known as "the mayor" in his neighborhood with his many walks and discussions with neighbors, and loved meeting up with friends and frequent acquaintances at The Smoke Shop and the Plumstead in Media.
He had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
He was a huge Eagles and Phillies fan and an avid history buff. Some would say a walking book of knowledge especially on world and music history. He especially loved rock and roll music but also enjoyed most music genres.
Bob mostly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren whom he loved very much.
Bob is pre-deceased by his father, Robert T. Chester, Sr. and his mother Marjorie (Halteman) Chester Suter.
