Pearl Sirulnick, gracefully departed this world on August 26, 2023, at the age of 94. Born on January 15, 1929, in the bustling streets of Philadelphia, Pearl brought a calmness like no other. She was a master of understatement, never one for grand gestures or the spotlight.
Throughout her journey, Pearl demonstrated her love and dedication to her cherished family and friends. Her presence was felt in the halls of the home and school, the scout meetings of the Girl Scouts, and the prestigious Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary Post 148. But let's not forget her unconditional affection for furry friends, as she always had a bag of treats on hand for her beloved four-legged companions. Truly a testament to her gentle spirit.
Pearl's legacy lives on through her treasured daughter Marcy Taylor, her witty son-in-law Donald Taylor, and the apple of her eye, grandson Jason Taylor. She leaves behind tales woven with love, laughter, and shared experiences. Joining her in eternal serenity, Pearl is reunited with her late husband, Frank Sirulnick, and her dear sister, Claire Hoffman.
Beneath her calm exterior, Pearl was a lifelong learner. From her early days at Mann Elementary School to her impressive graduation from Overbrook High School during war time, she was no stranger to knowledge. With an equally impressive career, she dazzled as a bookkeeper for a driving school and graced the Senior Community Services at SchoolHouse Center in Folsom with her presence.
When Pearl sought leisure, she found solace in the written word. Finding mysteries and lawyer novels utterly irresistible, she'd often be caught in the thrilling depths of literature. Adorned in an artist's apron, Pearl would paint masterpieces on china and bring life to her garden oasis with a green thumb that would make Mother Nature herself envious. She also made sure that none of her family and friends were cold by crocheting afghans for them. She would often donate her afghans to others who were in need.
In celebrating Pearl's remarkable life, friends and family will gather at Har Jehuda Cemetery for a graveside service. The Cemetery is located at 8400 Lansdowne Ave. Upper Darby, PA Gate 1 entrance. As her spirit takes flight, a luncheon filled with delightful stories and laughter will be served after the service. In honor of her beautiful soul, contributions may be made to the Wesley Enhanced Living Benevolent Fund or the National MS Society.
Although our hearts are heavy, may we find solace in knowing that the vibrant spirit of Pearl will forever be with us. With her legacy of laughter, her love of subtleties, and her true devotion to those she held dear, Pearl will remain eternally in our hearts.
