In Loving Memory of Patricia Ann Maines Fabrizio: Our Silly Goose Has Been Set Loose
Patricia Ann Maines Fabrizio, affectionately known as Patty to friends, Tresha to family and most recently as Grammy to those around her, age 71, of Royersford, Pennsylvania, took her final bow on November 16, 2024, at home, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family. Known for her trademark spunk until the very end, she leaves behind a legacy of love, silliness and laughter.
Patty was preceded in death by her soulmate and one true love, David Joseph Fabrizio, who passed away in 2001. Together, they shared nearly 19 years of marriage filled with endless love and laughter.
She leaves behind her cherished children, Noelle Fabrizio (Chastity) and David Fabrizio, her beloved grandson, Telor, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Born on March 6, 1953, in Queens, and raised in Plainview, New York, Patricia was the oldest of five children of the late Norman and Anne Finn Maines. A self-proclaimed tomboy much to her mother’s dismay, young Patty had a playful spirit and adventurous heart, climbing trees and even houses, making her way to the roof of her home—skills she later taught her children. She and her best friend Linda spent countless hours pogo-sticking around town, hopping along sidewalks and even daring to bounce up and down stairs, creating memories that would bring Patty smiles and laughter for years to come. And when her mother enrolled her in ballet class to encourage her to be more ladylike, Patty found joy in doing all the ballet poses as fast as he could.
After graduating from Holy Trinity High School, Patty studied mathematics at Siena College and built a successful career in administration and customer service. But her greatest accomplishments weren’t professional—they were personal. Patty was the heart and soul of her family.
Married in 1982, Patty and Dave were true partners in life– traveling, sharing laughter and making memories. The birth of their children, Noelle and David, didn’t slow them down and the family of four enjoyed countless adventures, exploring new restaurants, local parks and beaches, visiting friends and family and embarking on numerous road trips big and small with Patty as the map master and copilot, a role she truly enjoyed. Their lives were always filled with joy, spontaneity and the simple pleasure of doing things “their way.”
As a mother, Patty’s devotion to her children was unwavering. She was the heart of their home, a fun, creative and loving mom who instilled kindness, independence and critical thinking in them. Known among their friends as one of the “cool moms,” Patty welcomed them all with open arms, earning the title of “adopted mom” to so many who felt her warmth and joy.
A lifelong true believer in Santa Claus and the spirit of Christmas, Patty was a master at making every holiday feel magical. With a love of shopping and spreading cheer, she was an epic and thoughtful gift giver and the architect of countless cherished traditions.
One of Patty’s proudest moments was walking her daughter, Noelle, down the aisle on her wedding day. She was deeply close to her daughter-in-law, Chastity, whom she considered not just family but one of her best friends and a second daughter. Their bond was filled with silly antics, laughter and endless love and admiration.
Patty’s greatest treasure, however, was her grandson, Telor, her “favorite guy.” She always said that becoming a grandmother was her lifelong dream, and she fulfilled the role with unmatched zest and humor. To Telor, Grammy wasn’t just a grandmother—she was funny, loving, warm, creative, supportive, magical, spunky, and deeply special. She turned ordinary moments into extraordinary adventures and always made him feel like the most important person in the world. Whether she was sharing her stories or sweets, or a comforting snuggle, she created a bond filled with love and laughter that will last a lifetime.
Patty was not only a devoted mother and grandmother but also a proud member of the “Cool Aunts Club.” She never shied away from being a mother figure to those who needed one. Patty’s warmth, humor and unwavering support made her a safe haven for so many, offering advice, love and encouragement wherever it was needed. She wasn’t just an aunt—she was an “adopted mom,” whose heart and home were always open.
Patty’s life sparkled with a unique combination of laughter and kindness. She loved sweets and simple treats—especially ice cream, cookies with her beloved tea, peanut butter and jelly, cinnamon raisin bagels and banana nut muffins. She was a night owl who adored HGTV and crime shows, word and number puzzles and treasured spending time at home with her chosen “love family,” sharing meals, laughs and endless stories. Her hearty laugh, thoughtful presence, incredible sense of humor and youthful spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
Patty had a gift for making people laugh, whether with her quick wit, her playful sense of humor or her delightfully mischievous antics. A source of unending positivity, her generosity, support and encouragement knew no bounds, and her ability to make others feel seen, valued and uplifted was unparalleled. Whether it was a heartfelt compliment, a simple “You’ve got this,” or an assurance that things would get better, her words carried warmth and sincerity that stayed with you long after they were spoken. Her laugh was infectious, a sound that could light up a room and brighten even the heaviest of days and she never hesitated to share it freely.
Patty was a lifelong student of life, with an insatiable curiosity that led her to follow news and politics closely. She loved engaging in thoughtful discussions on a wide variety of topics. Her conversations were always filled with insight, humor and a deep desire to understand the world around her. She encouraged her family to ask questions, seek knowledge and challenge themselves to think critically. These lessons became one of her most cherished legacies, shaping not only her children but also her grandson, Telor, who carries her love of discovery and learning forward.
To say she will be missed is an understatement. Patty was the beating heart of her family. An exemplary mother, grandmother figure and human being and the creator of countless magical moments. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit and an unending generosity. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the laughter she inspired and the love she gave so freely.
In keeping with Patty’s wishes, family and friends are warmly invited to a Celebration of Life luncheon, Saturday, November 30 from 12-3 p.m. at The Washington at Historic Yellow Springs, 1685 Art School Rd Chester Springs, PA 19425. Please join us to honor her with laughter, memories, and of course, some of her favorite tea and baked treats.
