Owen Alfred Medd

Owen Alfred Medd, 86, passed away on December 11, 2023, in Newtown, PA. Born on August 31, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA, Owen was the beloved son of Owen C. Medd and Hermine Medd, both of whom preceded him in death.

Owen had a distinguished career, spending most of his professional life at the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster, PA. There, he mentored and shaped the careers of many young engineers. Even after retiring from federal service, Owen continued to share his expertise at Sage Technologies, also located in Warminster.

In addition to his successful career, Owen had a passion for art. He was an avid art collector, with a particular focus on Bucks County artists. Owen also served as a museum docent at the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown, PA, where he shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for the arts.

Owen is survived by his loving son, Owen S. Medd (Bonnie), of Ann Arbor, MI; his daughter, Judianne Ganschow, of Boulder Creek, CA; and his daughter, Dawn O'Connor (Stephen), of Lake Oswego, OR. He is also survived by his brothers, Ronald Medd and Bruce Medd, and his 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service and memorial luncheon will be scheduled at a later date to honor Owen's life and legacy. His memory will forever be cherished by his loved ones, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
