 Orpha Bethune (Casson) Oates, 83, Wilmington DE passed away unexpectedly Friday, March 25, 2022.  Born October 21, 1938, in Dover DE, daughter of late Susie Cornish and William Casson.

Extremely strong in her faith, a devoted member of South Wilmington congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.  Known for her smile, kind heart and genuine love and care for others.

Orpha was preceded in death by husband Major Oates Sr and son Major Oates Jr.  Last of ten Casson siblings:  Marian, Clarence, William, Robert, Elmer, Esther (Benson), Donald, Oliver, and Clementine (Jones).

Survived by children:  Devearl Oates (Senee), New Castle; Darin Oates, New Castle; Kimberly Stevens (Keith) Middletown; and Tracey “Tra’Lynne” Oates, New Castle; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren, and host of other family members, close friends and adopted, spiritual babies.
