It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nancy (Marquis) Stofanak, age 65, on January 23, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospice. She looked beautiful and peaceful surrounded by the love of her family as she went to receive her angel wings. The stars have never glowed as brightly in the sky as they did that night.

Born on October 29, 1958, Nancy lived a life filled with tenderheartedness, spirit, and strength. She grew up in Oklahoma where she graduated from Enid High School in 1976. She was married to her first husband, David Pruitt, from 1981 to 1997, and they had three children together, Amy, Ashley, and Mark. The family created special memories in Oklahoma at the lake, swimming at Mimi and Papa Marquis’ house, and trips to Colorado Springs in the summertime. In 1992, the family, Paws, and Ditto made the long drive headed northeast pulling a boat named Sweet P to begin to settle into their new home in Pennsylvania.

Nancy was dedicated to supporting her children’s interests - from Campfire, cheerleading, Pam’s Dance Academy, Lehigh Valley Martial Arts, and school activities, she absolutely beamed with pride.

Later, in 1998, while working for East Penn School District, she met Ken Stofanak, and he sparked a renewed vibrancy into her life.  They fell in love, married in 2001, and created a beautiful life together for the past 23 years. She loved pursuing the thrill of a second-hand find, dinners at the Merc, Garth Brooks, writing poems, and the delight of giving presents on Christmas morning.  Her happy place was with Ken, the dogs, and their cabin friends at Little Mud Pond out on the boat, fishing, and telling stories around the fire.  Eight adorable grandbabies call her Mimi, and she enjoyed showering them with love and gifts.  Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, Mimi, daughter, sister, and friend to so many.

She is survived by her loving husband Ken Stofanak; children - Amy Schatz (Jason Schatz), Ashley Baron (Steve Baron), and Mark Pruitt and their father and her close friend David Pruitt; 8 grandchildren Cory, Jay, and Max Schatz, Casey and Eliza Baron, and Gracie, Logan, and Darbie Pruitt; sister Kay Cone (Gene Cone); brothers Larry Marquis (Sherry Marquis) and Steve Marquis, as well a host of extended family and friends who will cherish the memories created with her throughout the years.

Family and friends are invited to join in a Celebration of Life for Nancy at 11am on Thursday, February 1, 2024 held at Bethany Church - Wescosville Campus on 1208 Brookside Road in Allentown, PA.

It was from the selflessness of her lung donor, the incredible expertise and care from the medical team at Temple Lung Center, and generosity of donations for Gift of Life Howie’s House that gave all of us 3 additional years with Nancy.  Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to the Gift of Life Donor Program, 401 North 3rd Street Philadelphia, PA 19123 or at www.donors1.org/give.

Nancy touched the lives of those around her with her kindness, warmth, and sense of humor.  May she now finally find rest, and may her spirit and smile forever live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
