March 10, 1957 — November 26, 2022

Wallingford, PA

Nancy Randall Navarro "Randy" passed away peacefully at home from ovarian cancer on November 26th, 2022 at 65 years of age. She was surrounded by her family. Randy was born March 10th, 1957 to Nancy L. Mertz and David P. Mertz in Abington, Pennsylvania. As a young adult, her appreciation for people and places took her across the country. She traveled to and lived in many states but ultimately returned to Pennsylvania, where she raised her children and set down roots close to her extended family. Throughout her life, she always felt most at home at her family's cottage on Coxton Lake. Nestled in Northeastern Pennsylvania, the lake was where she spent a lifetime of summers. It was there she developed a deep connection to nature; spending her days swimming, boating, and relaxing with her parents, sisters and nephews whom she loved dearly. Randy's affection for this special place will be carried on by her children and their families for years to come. Of all her passions in life however, cooking was perhaps her most fluent love language. Randy spent her 20's building a career working in the culinary industry at some of the most up and coming restaurants in Dallas and Philadelphia. It was during these years she gained many of her lifelong friendships and how she met her former husband. Anyone who was lucky enough to have shared a home-cooked meal with Randy could taste and feel love as the main ingredient. Randy's generosity extended far beyond the reaches of her cooking. She was perpetually dedicated to serving others; running a marathon to raise money for Leukemia research and more recently volunteering through the Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia. Her greatest act of service was being an exceptionally dedicated mother. She was equal parts cheerleader, guide, and friend to her three children, providing unwavering support through their most formative experiences. Randy's gentle but persistent style of parenting was always the right approach to ensure her kids could accomplish anything they set their minds to. As an empty-nester, Randy reinvented herself once again to begin a career at the software company SAP, where she was a touchstone for her colleagues for almost a decade. She recently became a grandmother and proudly stepped into her role as "Nan". Spending time with her growing family brought her so much happiness. Randy was curious, creative, generous and kind; she was a loyal friend to so many. She is survived by her three children, August, Silvio, and Sara Navarro, two grandchildren, Isabel and Lotte, her sister Marcia Bickmore and her mother Nancy Lee Mertz. A memorial service is planned for Saturday, January 21st in Wallingford, Pennsylvania for family, close friends, and colleagues. Please contact the family for additional information. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to two local charities close to her heart: Media Food Bank in Media, Pennsylvania and Broad Street Ministry in Philadelphia.
