Linda Wilt

Linda Wilt (née Wogan), aged 71, passed away on September 7, 2024, in Philadelphia, PA after a short but very sudden battle with cancer. Born on September 30, 1952, in Altoona, PA, Linda was known for her vibrant personality, marked by her humor, silliness, generosity, and hard-working nature. Her life was a symphony of dedication, not only to her career in health and food safety but also to her true passion: music. Linda served as a church director of music, choir director, and was a devoted organist and pianist at Hopewell United Methodist Church for the past several years.

Linda's professional life was dedicated to ensuring safety in health and food services, impacting many through her diligent work (there's probably not a Wawa she hasn't seen, or a party where she hasn't questioned how long that dairy based salad was left out!) However, it was her musical talents that resonated most deeply within her community, bringing joy and upliftment through her roles at church. When she wasn't working or with family, Linda loved to read, binge on crime dramas like CSI and Law and Order, and she really loved to spend time in Cape May listening to the waves and admiring the lighthouses. 

Linda's life was rich with personal relationships. She is survived by her daughters, Lori (Matt) and Kim (Kevin); grandsons, Nathan and Tyler (Callista); and her soon-to-be-born great-grandson, Coast, all of whom she loved deeply.

A service to celebrate Linda's life will be held at Hopewell United Methodist Church on Sunday, September 22. The calling hour begins at 2pm with services commencing at 3pm.In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Linda's memory. Her legacy will echo through her music and the memories she leaves with her loved ones.
