In Loving Memory of Lawrence L Douthit
Lawrence Lee Douthit, 69, of Summit Hill, PA died on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest, Allentown. Larry was a beloved husband, father and friend, whose presence brought warmth, wisdom and love to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness and generosity.
Born June 4, 1955, in Chester, PA, Larry was the son of the late George M. and Betty Jane (Santee) Douthit of East Greenville, PA. Larry lived a life rich with love and purpose. He attended Southern Lehigh High School in Center Valley and later earned his GED from Liberty High School in Bethlehem, PA. He also pursued studies at Lehigh University. Larry served honorably in the Navy and was dedicated to volunteering at Paul’s House/VALOR Clinic Foundation, where he had previously been a guest. At Paul’s House, he managed the clothing donations, assisted with holiday meal preparations, and occasionally participated in meal distributions, among other essential activities. Larry considered his employment at CTC Manufacturing as a source of pride, where he was regarded as a valued employee and friend.
Larry's life was characterized by a steadfast commitment to family and friends. He consistently offered a listening ear, comforting words, and a helping hand. To Larry, friends were considered an extension of family, and he made everyone feel appreciated and valued.
Larry is survived by his wife, Wendy, his daughters Sarah (with her husband Kevin Aulman), Kathleen (Katie) (with her husband Christopher Jenkins), Amanda Wyles, his granddaughter Natalia Wyles, and his brother Brian C. Douthit. He was predeceased by his brother Michael Duane Douthit. His legacy will endure through the countless lives he touched and the memories he created along the way.
Rest in peace, Larry. You have left the world a better place, and your legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to be touched by your presence. Please raise a mug of coffee and scratch off a lottery ticket as a tribute to his memory.
A memorial service will be held on February 19, 2025, at Paul’s House/VALOR Clinic Foundation, 1130 Scenic Drive, Kunkletown, Pa at 6:30 pm. (weather permitting) to celebrate Larry Douthit’s extraordinary life. All who knew and loved, Larry, are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to VALOR Clinic Foundation, in honor of Larry’s generous spirit.
