Laurie Jean (Manhart) Gormley, 62, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on the morning of Friday, March 14, 2025, at Jefferson Abington Hospital. May her memory bring comfort to all who mourn her passing.
Born on Jan. 17, 1963, in Nescopeck, Laurie devoted her life to caring for others while nurturing meaningful relationships with family, friends, neighbors, and even wildlife. Her kindness and devotion to her loved ones will be deeply missed.
Laurie was preceded in death by her father, Clair Eugene “Pete” Manhart; her mother, Laura A. Wagner Manhart; her brother, Robin L. Manhart; and her beloved Bashful, Clementine, and Huckleberry.
“LaLa” is lovingly survived by her husband of 20 1/2 years, Bill Gormley; her children: Amanda Black (Brad Bernhard) and Joshua Black (Colleen); her aunt, Joan Gearhart; her stepchildren: Chris Gormley (Jennifer) and Danny Gormley; her grandchildren: Hazel Bernhard, Marley Bernhard, Graham Black, Christian Gormley, Jonathan Gormley, Aiden Gormley, and Kylin Gormley; her brother, Randy Manhart; her nieces: Tori Manhart and Cassie Yeagley; and her beloved Courage and Twilight.
A celebration of her life will be scheduled later in the spring.
A memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church, Nescopeck, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. Please dress comfortably and brightly.
