It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Kelley Marie Daniel, 63, on July 18, 2025 in Philadelphia, PA, after a brave battle with glioblastoma. Born in the picturesque state of West Virginia, Kelley was a woman of perseverance and resilience, qualities that were reflected in her military career and personal pursuits.
Kelley was a 1979 graduate of Fairfield Union High School in Lancaster, Ohio. Her life was marked by her service to her country and her love for the great outdoors. She served initially as a ground radio operator in the U.S. Air Force and later as a drill instructor in the U.S. Army. Her commitment extended to assignments with both the Army National Guard and Reserves, showcasing her skills and dedication to duty.
Kelley's adventurous spirit found joy in traveling, hiking, and camping. She was particularly fond of the majestic mountains of Alaska, Colorado, West Virginia, and her beloved Utah, where she found solace and inspiration. Her love for animals was evident in her affection for cats and horses, while her appreciation for books and movies enriched her life.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Juliet Daniel. Kelley leaves behind a loving family including her father, Charles David Daniel; her sister, Susan Douglass; husband, Albert Morson; and her daughters, Faye Trice and Dina Antonelos. Her courage and strength during her battle with terminal brain cancer was an inspiration to those who knew her.
In remembrance of Kelley Marie Daniel, donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, an organization that supported Kelley in her recent years. Her legacy of service and life of adventure will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
