John E. Schmidt

John E Schmidt, age 88, of Upper Darby, PA, passed away on April 17, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, John was the son of the late Louis D. Schmidt and Helen E. Schmidt (Yeager).

John was a Private First Class in the US Army. He had been employed as a wire man for General Electric for many years.

John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He loved camping, spending time in his backyard with his wife and family, playing croquet and baseball, building campfires and going on walks.  He enjoyed visiting Lancaster, particularly the Green Dragon, mini golfing, and spending time at the Jersey Shore. He loved making people laugh, spending quality time with his family and traveling to France.  

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Liliane Schmidt (Lomer). He is survived by his son, John A. (Patricia) Schmidt and Daniel L. (Catherine) Schmidt, his grandchildren Daniel L. Schmidt Jr., Ashleigh (Nicholas) Shannon (Schmidt) and Kimberly Schmidt, and his great-grandson Connor Shannon and three great-granddaughters.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the family and attend the funeral service at his gravesite on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at 10:30 AM which is located directly across from the Chapel at SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
