John Rogus

Jun 8, 1945 — Jul 16, 2026

Voorhees, NJ

John Edward Rogus, 81, of Voorhees, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Born on June 8, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, John was the only child of John and Florence Rogus. He graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in 1964.

In 1976, John married the love of his life, Kathleen Cohill. Together they raised their son, Ryan, first in Parkwood, PA and later in Pennsauken, NJ. John dedicated 39 years of service to the United States Postal Service before retiring in August 2009. He took great pride in his work and was respected for his commitment and dependability throughout his career.

John found his greatest joy in the simple things that made life meaningful. A lifelong Philadelphia sports fan, he faithfully cheered on the Phillies and Eagles. He loved reading, taking family vacations to Wildwood, and, above all, spending time with those he loved. Nothing brought him more happiness than being "Pop pop." Whether it was a soccer game, baseball game, or any special moment in his grandsons' lives, John was there offering encouragement, love, and a proud smile from the sidelines.

John is survived by his beloved son, Ryan Rogus; his daughter-in-law, Chrissy; and his grandsons, Dylan, Vasili, and Evan. He will be remembered by his cousin Lorraine Kelly. He also leaves behind his loving sisters-in-laws, brothers-in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many dear friends. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Kathleen Rogus, and by his parents, John and Florence Rogus.

John will be remembered for his gentle heart, quiet strength, and unwavering love for his family. He had a remarkable memory for dates and numbers, faithfully keeping track of every family birthday so no one was ever forgotten. His thoughtfulness, sweet disposition, and steady presence made everyone around him feel loved and valued. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a proud Grandpop, and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed.
