Jean C. Rutter, formally of Quakertown and Hatboro, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 in Doylestown, PA. She is predeceased by her loving husband, Richard M. Rutter and is survived by her daughters, Brenda Jaffe (Jonathan) and Cheri Davis (Stephen) and her brother, John A. Cuthrell III. She was devoted grandmother to Marissa (Russell), Kaitlyn (Scott), Brian, Daniel (Molly) Alison (Adam) and Casey (Mark). She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren, Max, Mackenzie, Joan, Madeleine and Marigold.
Jean was born in Washington, D.C., the daughter of the late John and Betty (Woodell) Cuthrell.
Jean attended the University of Maryland and was an avid fan of the Washington Commanders, attending many games and actually meeting many of the players, which was a great thrill of her life.
Jean worked for many decades as an antique dealer, selling through both Quaker Antique Mall, Treasure Trove and other establishments and exhibiting in many antique shows throughout the area. She was a longtime active member of the Bucks County Antique Dealers Association and served in several capacities within the organization over the years.
Jean loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a great friend to many and held close her dear friendships, some dating back to early childhood. She had an infectious and unforgettable laugh and was prone to fits of laughter most especially with her dear cousin, Betsy.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral service to be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown PA, 18940. Service will begin at 1 o’clock sharp. Please arrive by 12:30 PM.
