James Lowe Obituary

Written by Adeline Lowe

On March 19, 2024 , James Nathan Lowe passed away due to a rare form of cancer called Soft Tissue Sarcoma at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He was 57 years old.

James is survived by his mother Carole Lowe, his brother Donald Lowe, his wife, LeeAnne Pennegar and five children between both of his marriages, Davin Lowe, Richelle Lowe, Adeline Lowe, Caitlin Pennegar and Kelly Pennegar. He was a loving father, son, husband and brother.

James was born in Illion on July 23rd, 1966, a small town in upstate New York and had three brothers growing up. He moved to San Jose, California in 1976 and stayed there until 1983 when his father’s work took his family Harleysville, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Souderton High School.

James' passions throughout his entire life had a strong emphasis on music, namely heavy metal music. Some of his favorite bands were Rush, Iron Maiden, Foo Fighters, UFO, and Judas Priest to name a few. He was a gifted drummer, finding joy in the creation of songs and doing covers of his favorite rock music. James also played guitar and shared the skill with his children whom he often played songs for growing up.

James was loved deeply by his family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. He had a deep sense of self worth which allowed him to care for others in a productive way. He could typically be found listening to music, snuggling his cat Fiona or his dog Sparkles, playing a gig with his beloved band mates, or most often, spending quality time with his wife and children. He could force a laugh or a smile out of just about anybody who met him.

James will be inexplicably missed by those who knew him and cherished him. In place of a funeral, there will be a life celebration held for James to honor the person he was and the person that will live on to be in our hearts. The life celebration will be held in April.
