James Kuhlman

James E Kuhlman, 76, died Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. Jim was born in Princeton, MN, son of August and Verle Kuhlman. He graduated from the University of Minnesota. He managed college bookstores across the country with the Follett Higher Education Group and in his later years he was the Director of Business Services at The Foundation for Advanced Education in the Sciences. Jim was the beloved husband of Martine, devoted father of Maxfield and Ella, and doting human of canines Zoey and Mochi. He is survived by his brothers John (Rox Anne) and Kevin Kuhlman. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Deane.

Jim was an avid music lover and former trumpet player with the University of Minnesota marching band. He eagerly attended concerts of all genres, from the Beatles to the National Symphony Orchestra. The Minnesota State Fair was an all-time favorite event. Christmas was his holiday. Jim spent countless hours adorning his home inside and out, forever searching for and installing the perfect holiday lights and decorations. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
