Elizabeth Moeller Townsend, daughter of Beatrice Buchanan Moeller and Carl W Moeller, passed away from natural causes on August 3rd. Beth was a warm and loving grandmother, mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Nurturing, compassionate, and kind, she was a loyal person who loved deeply.
In her 20s, Beth worked for IBM and was one of the rare women in the 1960s who worked in the tech field. She had a passion for education and later in life, worked as an administrator at the Lancaster Country Day School. Beth knew and cared about the students and their families and was always ready with a smile.
Beth was an accomplished pianist whose lifelong love of music was a gift she shared with family and friends. She was a creative person who loved the arts and encouraged creativity in all aspects of life. Beth was passionate about gardening and always had beautiful gardens with a broad collection of plants. She also had a heart for animals and shared her life with many beloved dogs and cats.
Beth had a playful side and sense of wonder that was inspiring and infectious. She was a kind, funny, empathetic, and deeply intelligent person who always gave her all. Her commitment to people and causes she believed in was unshakeable, resulting in a life defined by integrity and the pursuit of excellence.
Beth is survived by her children, Jen and Kenny, her daughter-in-law, Nicci, and her three beloved granddaughters, Olivia, Ella, and Sadie. She is also survived by her brother, Bill, and his wife, Kitty, and their children Kathryn, Carl, and William.
