In Loving Memory of Edmund Francis Coyle
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edmund “Ed” Francis Coyle, who left us on Saturday, May 24, 2025.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife, Marie Coyle; his loving children, Patricia East, Eddie Coyle, and Patrick Coyle, his wife, Kelly; and his cherished grandchildren, Alaina Coyle and Nora Coyle. He is also survived by his beloved siblings, Richard Coyle, Jack Coyle, and Marybeth Connor. He was predeceased by his brother Robert Coyle, and sister Patricia Coyle.
Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ed was a man of great heart, strong character, and endless stories. His love of motorcycles wasn’t just a hobby — it was a calling. He rode proudly and often, especially in support of charitable causes for United States military veterans and POWs, a mission close to his heart.
Ed was remarkably skilled with his hands — mechanically savvy and always ready to fix, build, or tinker with just about anything. Whether it was a motorcycle engine, a home repair, or a neighbor’s broken tool, Ed had the knowledge and the patience to get the job done right.
He also found peace in the outdoors. Whether fishing, crabbing, or tending to the yard at his beloved home on 26 Bridle Court West, he brought care, pride, and dedication to everything he touched.
At home, Ed was never far from the loyal companionship of he and Marie's two dogs, Marley and Buddie, and their cat, Holly — each one a treasured part of his life and a constant source of comfort and joy.
He had a gift for storytelling — bringing joy, laughter, and a touch of nostalgia to every conversation. Those stories, and the warmth with which he told them, will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
A devoted family man and a loyal friend, Ed Coyle will be remembered for his generosity, his humor, and the steady presence he brought to every life he touched — whether over a can of beer/glass of brandy, a heartfelt conversation, or the rumble of a motorcycle engine.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to everyone who has offered love, support, and kindness during this difficult time — especially Bobby and Eileen Gibson (Marie Coyle's brother, and sister-in-law), and Sharon and Jim Moore (Patrick Coyle's mother-in-law and father-in-law). Your compassion, care, and unwavering presence have brought comfort and strength when it was needed most. Your love will never be forgotten.
