Donna M. Casciato, 60, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her children, on Friday, December 13th. She was a longtime resident of Upper Chichester, PA. Donna lived every day like it was an adventure, truly embracing life to the fullest.
While she held many jobs throughout her life, Donna had one true passion: animal conservation. This passion was exemplified by her dedicated work in creating the T.H.A.N.K.S. Sanctuary, a rescue and rehabilitation refuge for exotic cats. Her unwavering commitment to protecting and caring for animals inspired countless others and left a lasting impact on the community.
She will also be remembered for her strength, compassion, and deep devotion to her family. Her legacy lives on through her three children, who carry forward her dedication to conservation, animal protection, and veterinary care.
Donna is survived by her beloved children: Heather Dawson, Robert Achuff, and Daniel Achuff; her former husband and dear friend, Robert Achuff; her brothers, John Casciato and his wife Anna, and Greg Ozar and his wife Barbara; her cherished grandchildren: Logan Ruiz, Elizabeth Ruiz, and Meredith Dawson; and her great-grandchild, Sammy Dawson.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to The Philadelphia Zoo to honor Donna’s love for animals and to help continue her legacy of care and compassion.
