It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the passing of our beloved husband and father. Below is his journey he requested be shared on his behalf after his passing.
"On February 4th 2025 I received a diagnosis that I had stage 4 cancer (Upper Tract Urothelial High Grade Carcinoma) by a physician at the Watson's Clinic in the HIghlands, Florida. I initially thought I had long term COVID. The cancer was on my kidney, bladder, aorta, lung and probably a few other organs. I thought that was it for me in a very short period of time. I couldn't even walk fifty steps without tiring. I travelled back north and was admitted to Fox Chase Center at Cottman Avenue in Phila. I was asked if I wanted to participate in a clinical trial program by one of the Oncologist (Dr. Daniel Geynisman). I of course said yes. The medication they gave me was KeyTruda (Immunotherapy) and Chemo. They are two separate infusions, but, sometimes I got both in one sitting. Yes, I got one of those chemo ports embedded in my chest; it just made life easier. I responded incredibly well to the treatments. I had a 30% decrease in the size of my cancer after my first CAT scan. In some areas it was gone completely, especially after my second CAT scan. I could once again walk several miles. Life was good, but, as stuff happens something went wrong and my life came to a screeching halt. So, for those of you reading this it means I am no longer alive. I gave it my all. My family was by my side every inch of the way. My kids were the best and spent tireless hours making sure I was getting the right attention at the right place. My wife waited on me hand and foot and made sure I got the right care. I wanted for nothing. I asked my kids to post this on social media and be sent to a list of my close friends. I loved my kids more than life itself. I hope their pain of my passing is short lived.
Fox Chase Cancer Center comprises an incredible staff of nurses and physicians including palliative care. In my opinion they are second to none. I would not have made it as long as I did without them. I am truly grateful for the years I had. There is very little I wanted for.
