Demetrio Cruz Cayamanda

Demetrio Cruz Cayamanda (1947 – 2025) 

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Demetrio Cruz Cayamanda, who peacefully departed this life at the age of 77. Born on August 14th, 1947, in Alaminos, Laguna, Philippines, Demetrio was the beloved son of Simplicio and Mercedes Cayamanda. On June 10th, 1976, he married the love of his life, Carmelita Cayamanda, and together they shared 48 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around love, family, and hard work. As a devoted husband and father, Demetrio and Carmelita raised four children: Andrew, Adrian, Emmylou, and Albert. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to Rianne Patrice, Andrea Paula, Angela, Benedict, Shaelyn, Shelby, Bailey Marie, and Amadea Marie, always present in their lives with guidance, wisdom, and unwavering support. In the Philippines, Demetrio was a hardworking businessman of his Gravel & Sand construction company. In 2002, he immigrated to the United States with his wife and youngest son, Albert, in pursuit of a better life and greater opportunities for his family. In the U.S., he worked as a warehouse employee, home keeper, and handyman, before settling into his final role in dining services at Villanova University, where he remained until his passing. Demetrio was known for his generosity, strong work ethic, and deep devotion to his family. His love and dedication created a foundation of strength for his family, which will carry on for generations to come.
