David Robnett Walsh was born in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to Margaret (nee Dimmitt) and Joseph Walsh on August 20, 1955. Raised in the area, he went on to graduate from Central Bucks West High School in 1973. He didn't linger in Pennsylvania, taking off to travel Europe extensively within days of his graduation.
The Culinary Arts were his primary interests, working in all areas of the industry as a dishwasher, bartender, server and chef as well as ultimately a teacher. Amidst his travels he studied hospitality, eventually earning a master’s degree at Penn State University. His career fueled his interest in travel, taking him to many places, including Canada, Japan, working in the U.S. Navy Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and Micronesia to teach hospitality due to it’s new status as a World Heritage Site.
He retired in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania (Happy Valley) spending his days walking, playing guitar, mandolin, and ukulele, and listening to his extensive music collection. David passed peacefully, having lived the life he wanted, on February 8, 2026 at Hershey Medical Center. He will be remembered as someone who was friendly, good natured, intelligent and always willing to engage in conversation.
He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Peter. He is survived by his sister, Jean Neal (Dave), sister in law, Linda, nieces, Lindsey Walsh, Kathryn Metallo (Mike), Holly Neal and great nephews Matty, Jackson and Jonny Metallo.
