Colleen DeSalme

Colleen (Holmes) DeSalme, 59, of Philadelphia passed away at home on February 17, 2025.

Colleen leaves behind two daughters, Shannon Johnson (Steve) and Kelly DeSalme, and three beautiful grandchildren; Morgan, Logan and Paxon Johnson. Colleen also has a younger sister, Helene (Holmes) Baczkowski (Matthew) and three nieces. Colleen was preceded in death by her parents William and Maureen Holmes and Edward DeSalme, her late husband of more than 35 years.

Colleen had wonderful friends from her days at St. Hubert’s and marching as majorette. She was a lover of animals and left behind Jax the Cat, and cared for many other pets over the years. She also loved classic rock, attending concerts, taking photos, rooting for Philly sports teams, visiting the Jersey shore, and enjoying Arbor Mist, and was rarely seen without a Mountain Dew in hand.

Colleen took great pride in her work as a home healthcare nurse and spent her final days caring for patients in need.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Maternity BVM Church, 9220 Old Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19115. Interment will be private. Colleen will be laid to rest with her parents at Resurrection Cemetery.
