Catherine "Bunny" Murphy

Catherine "Bunny" Murphy, age 84, of Woodlyn, Pennsylvania (formerly of Southwest Philadelphia and a lifelong member of St. Barnabas Parish), passed away peacefully at her residence on March 6, 2026.

Born November 9, 1941, Catherine was the daughter of the late Charles and Catherine (Haggerty) Danowski. She was the beloved sister of the late Charles Danowski (Frances).

Catherine was the devoted mother of Lisa Richards (Jim) of Ridley Park, PA, and Karen Murphy Gross (David) of San Diego, CA, and is reunited in heaven with her late daughter Maureen Murphy of Philadelphia.

She was a loving grandmother to Jamie Richards of Philadelphia; Dominic Gross and Kelley Gross of San Diego; and Anthony DeFelice of Ridley Park. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Shannon Richards. Catherine was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Sophia Corrado and Cora DeFelice, who brought her lasting joy.

Catherine was a devoted mother, cherished friend, and caring neighbor. She loved spending time in her garden and always made sure the local birds were well fed. She and her daughters proudly shared their ties as alumnae of West Catholic Girls’ High School. Catherine’s kindness, warmth, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by the many people whose lives she touched.

In keeping with her wishes, services and interment will be private. The family extends heartfelt thanks to all for their prayers and thoughtful support.
