Anne Marie Murphy

Anne Marie Murphy, 67, died October 18, 2024 at Crozer Chester hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she previously lived in Ridley Park and Florida and most recently resided in Eddystone, PA. Anne Marie attended Our Lady of Peace grade school and was a proud graduate of Ridley High School, Class of 1975, where she was active in student government and voted Friendliest and Most Outgoing in the senior class poll. Anne Marie was employed by several companies during her working career including Pathmark, County Savings Bank and retired from US Airways, where she was a flight attendant. While she traveled to many exciting places all over the world during her years as a flight attendant, some of her fondest memories were much more local -growing up with the many kids on “West Road”, the nuns at OLP, high school shenanigans at Ridley High, starting her married and family life in a Ridley apartment, and as a young mom with her girls at the Nassau Swim Club with the other “swim moms”, she was also a terrific artist and loved painting & making crafts. Following her retirement, she persevered through a number of illnesses, always taking comfort in her faith.

Her loving survivors: include her children, Gwen (Ray) Shannon, Megan (Paul) Peterson, Courtney McCormick (Justin Neal); grandchildren Lucas Wood, Zander Wood, and several other grandchildren; brother, Charles (Nan) Murphy. Predeceased by her mother, Frances (Harvey) Murphy and father, Francis (Pinchie) Murphy, and brothers, Eugene and Joseph Murphy. 

Memorial Mass: will be 11am, Thursday 10/31/24, St. Rose of Lima Parish, where friends may call after 10am.(visitation)

Interment: Private (Family & Close Friends Only).
