Joann Pinto

November 18, 1942 — October 17, 2021

 JoAnn M. Pinto, age 78, affectionately known as “Grammy Jo” to all, passed away at home in Chesterbrook, PA on October 17, 2021. She was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Little Silver, NJ. JoAnn was the daughter of the late Norman and Ruth McMullen. She was predeceased by her brother, Neil McMullen.

JoAnn is survived by her sons, Christopher (Kristen) of Huntingdon Valley, PA, and Douglas (Daria Mochan) of Murrysville, PA. She was a loving Grammy Jo to her grandchildren, Felicia, Anna, Joseph, Luca, and Gia. She is also survived by her niece, nephew and great nieces and nephew.
JoAnn graduated with an interior design degree from Syracuse University and went on to have a career designing office building and homes.
She was an avid reader, a skilled scrabble player and crossword puzzle guru. JoAnn was a fan of playing and watching tennis. She loved to be around cousins, friends, and family. JoAnn was known for her peanut butter fudge and taught her grandchildren the secret recipe. JoAnn had a sweet tooth and loved Entenmann’s, elephant ears, chocolate turtles and Reece’s Pieces. She will be remembered for her love of penguins, quick wit, and sense of humor.
A celebration to honor her life will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to American Cancer Society https://www.cancer.org/ or to American Lung Association https://www.lung.org/.
