Robert M. Frusco, beloved brother, uncle, godfather, pop-pop, best friend, mentor and highly respected educator, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2021, after a brief illness.
He will be remembered for his love and dedication to his family and friends, his generosity to everyone, his deep Roman Catholic faith, his sharp intellect and his strong commitment to the highest standards of Catholic education. He taught and mentored thousands of students during a career that spanned 40 years at Father Judge High School in Northeast Philadelphia. He was a recipient of The Chapel of the Four Chaplains Award as well as many other distinguished honors.
He meant the world to his family and longtime companion, Onorina Dragone Thompson, and her children, Salvatore Dragone, Ettore Dragone, Felicia Dragone, and grandchildren Salvatore Dragone and Anthony Dragone. He was the devoted brother to Elaine Kaptik, uncle to Alexandra Kaptik, Marlene Frusco, Cheryl Palantino (Sal) and Bill Frusco (Maureen). Beloved brother of the late Rita Frusco and Louis Frusco.
Robert touched tens of thousands of lives with his goodness. He was very loved and will be missed by many people. Vaya con Dios.
Due to the restrictions put in place during the pandemic, there will be a private funeral Mass and Interment with a memorial service to be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to The Saint Padre Pio Shrine at the Church of Saint John the Baptist, 213 West 30th Street, New York, NY 10001 and The Saint Philomena Sanctuary Support Fund, Inc., P.O. Box 4114, Bergheim, Texas 78004.
