Shirley Ann Banks

May 16, 1940 — November 8, 2019

 Shirley Ann (Moore) Banks, was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she graduated from Fifth Avenue High School.

Shirley believed in working and exercised a strong work ethic, working for over 20 years at F.W. Woolworth, formerly Grants Department Store and the City of Philadelphia Mayor’s Commission for the Aging for 17 years until June 2019.  She was a faithful member at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church under Pastor Albert F. Campbell until his retirement, currently under Pastor Donald Moore. 

Shirley was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, with an impeccable sense of humor.   Shirley transitioned into glory on Friday, November 8, 2019 at age 79, at Lankenau Medical Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Sylvester Banks, her brother Leroy Curtis Moore, Jr., and her mother Nellie F. Moore.  Shirley leaves behind to cherish her memory 3 children: Deborah Lynn, Craig Allen (Mary Ann(w)) and Seana Nicole Banks; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren and loving nieces, nephews and friends.
