It is with deep sadness that we announce that, Edward “Eddie” G. Ripoli, 70, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11:55 AM due to sudden illness and complications at Springfield Hospital in Delaware County, PA.
As his explicit wishes were to be cremated upon his passing, there will be no viewing, but a memorial service will be held to celebrate his life, and his joining with our Heavenly Father.
**Memorial proceedings will take place at RADIANT CHURCH, 200 S. MACDADE BLVD., GLENOLDEN, PA 19036 on FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
Eddie’s life was one of overcoming early hardship as a South Philadelphia youth from a large Italian-Catholic family. He always stood for core values such as hard work ethic and determination, eventually becoming an outstanding success as a man, and as a loving husband, a daddy, and Pop-Pop, as well as a son, brother, and friend. He graduated from South Philadelphia High School and attended Temple University as a participant in their ROTC program. He soon met his wife, Victoria Bridget, whom he would father two children with, and spend the remainder of his days beside. Edward’s adulthood also saw him become a respected Computer Operations Manager at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, a position he excelled in until retirement. He pursued his faith as a Christian, being an Elder and integral member of Messiah Gateway Church in South Philadelphia for many, many years. He loved life's simple pleasures such as fishing, reading, and his Philadelphia sports teams, but forever loved his family above all. Eddie’s last and greatest blessing came with his now 3-year-old grandson Luke, who he loved and embraced more than anything until his very last day. He was a man who always gave everything of himself, believing in practical and pragmatic selflessness, and making sure those around him wanted for nothing. He will be very dearly missed by all who have come to know him.
Edward is survived by loving wife of over 44 years, Victoria Bridget, son Joshua Edward, daughter Cara Noelle, devoted daughter-in-law Sofiya (Joshua), and grandson Lucas Joshua (Josh and Sofiya), as well as sisters, Mildred Postiglione (Ripoli), and Patricia Marconi (Ripoli), brothers James and David, and many, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews.
*In lieu of flowers, please provide any contributions to the RADIANT CHURCH at the service, or donate to their home web page at eternallyalive.com. Edward’s family and loved ones want to sincerely thank everyone for the overwhelming support that has been given during this difficult time. God bless and keep you all.
