Allen Sandberg, 87, of Philadelphia PA died on Thursday May 30, 2019 at Doylestown Hospital, leaving his family and friends. He was born on August 10th, 1931 of the late Claire Mattenson and Myer Sandberg. He is predeceased by his son, Kurt Sandberg.
Allen was an artist, and was married to his bride, Myrna (nee Snyder) Sandberg for 62 years. He was a jazz enthusiast and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army serving his country in the Korean War. He received the Bronze Star for valor for his actions during the battle at Pork Chop Hill.
Allen is survived by his wife, Myrna Sandberg, daughters Tracy Sandberg and Jamie (nee Sandberg) Berenbaum, daughter-in-law Marlynn (nee Poritsky) Sandberg; and grandchildren; Alec and Jake Berenbaum, Molly and Maddie Sandberg.
Per Allen’s request, services will be held privately by the family.
