Anthony Joseph Del Vecchio

December 9, 1940 — April 26, 2019

Anthony J. “Tony” Del Vecchio passed away at home on Friday, April 26th at the age of 78.  Tony is survived by devoted wife, Betsy, son, Anthony Del Vecchio, daughter, Sarah Marlow (Tony), grandsons, Alex, Spencer and Zachary Marlow, brother, Donald Del Vecchio and his family, sister in-law, Senator Carrie Ruud (Dick Rostad),  brother in law, Col. George Steuber (Patricia) and their families.   

Tony was a graduate of Darby HS and had undergrad and graduates degrees from Drexel University.  He was a noted food scientist and had leadership positions with the Patterson, Pillsbury and Calgene corporations.

Tony was an avid book reader, reviewer and collector.  He and Betsy loved combing through used book stores to find treasures to add to their collection.  He thoroughly enjoyed writing reviews on Goodreads and sharing his thoughts with other readers.  He was a whiz at the NY Times Sunday crossword and could have been a Jeopardy champion.

At Tony’s request, no services will be held.
