Joan Gartner

Joan Carter Gartner, a lifelong Newtown resident died peacefully in her sleep March 24, 2019 at Buckingham Valley Nursing home, she was 79. 

Joan graduated from Council Rock in 1957.  She loved to travel to Florida each winter with her friends and family.  Joanie developed a love for racing and every Saturday night you could find her at the Flemington Speedway cheering on the racers. She followed racing all over the country. She loved cheering on her Philadelphia Eagles.  The many trips to Disney World were fun to Joanie because she could see her entire family together.  Most important to Joanie was her best friendship with Louverna Steele Gersch. 

Joan was the daughter of Frank and Mary Carter, although her mother died when she was very young, the family of Walter and Clara Jones took her in raising her as one of their own. 
She is survived by her son Robert and daughter-in-law Julie and their three children Gabby, Michael and Sienna whom she adored. 
Joan’s lifelong wish was to not have a service or viewing and wanted her ashes spread in Florida.
