Thelma Vermillion Mattiucci

October 26, 1929 — April 27, 2018

Thelma Pauline Mattiucci,  born on October 26, 1929 in Wood, Scott County, Virginia, to the late Robert K. and Erma E. Vermillion (nee Gray), passed away peacefully at age 88 on April 27, 2018 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

She graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1948 and worked for Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator, supervisor and trainer from 1947 to 1961.  Then, was a homemaker, waitress and restaurant owner until 1976 when she began a new career and developed into a talented custom drapery maker until retirement.  She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, and cats. 

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Pasquale Mattiucci; her brothers, Charles (Ross) and James, Sr. and sister-in-law, Mary. She is survived by her daughter, Valerie of Newtown Square; sons, Gregory of Bryn Mawr, and Mark of Newtown Square; brothers and sisters, Gerald and Jeffrey (Rita), Ruth Whaley (John) and Linda Strickland (Ray); many nieces, nephews and in-laws.  She loved all of her family and friends so dearly. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Thelma's name to Bryn Mawr Hospital and the American Thoracic Society.

Family members and friends may attend the memorial service on Wednesday, May 9th, 11:30 am at the Church of the Savior, 651 North Wayne Ave, Wayne, PA 19087.
