WILLIAM PATRICK WELDON

Age 75, of Meadowbrook, PA, passed peacefully on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Abington-Jefferson Health Hospice, Warminster, after living for many years with heart failure. He is survived by his wife, Loretta M. Vasso (nee Montchyk), daughters Deborah Lowery (Timothy), Theresa Pepenelli (Vincent), sons William F. Weldon and Joseph P. Weldon, step-daughters Kelly Quinn Merlino (Michael) and Traci Quinn Lifsted, and 16 beloved grandchildren. He is predeceased by parents Mary Weldon (nee Cannon), William A. Weldon, and brother Michael Weldon and is survived by siblings Patricia Bevenour (Jay), Mary Ellen Cohen (Eugene) and John Weldon and mother-in-law Ann Montchyk. Bill was a Philadelphia Police Officer until 1986, having spent most of his time as a member of the Highway Patrol. He then worked as Facilities Manager for the Missionary Servants of the Most Blessed Trinity for approximately 20 years. He also helped countless numbers of people to achieve sobriety during his 41+ years in recovery. In lieu of a funeral, a Life Celebration was held on April 29th, when Bill still felt well enough to enjoy the love and support of approximately 200 family and friends. Contributions in Bill's memory can be sent to Abington Health Foundation, 1200 Old York Road, Abington PA 19001 earmarked to benefit Abington-Jefferson Health Hospice.
