George R. Bahl, age 84, a longtime resident of Springfield for 53 years passed away on October 31, 2016. Born in Philadelphia, he was a 1950 graduate of Bartrum High School and attended Temple University. He served in the Korean War as a Corporal in the U.S. Army Signal Corps. Following the war. George was employed by Sun Oil Company in the Applied Physics Laboratory. He held U.S. Patents in Instrumentation. From a young age and until his death, he was obsessed with collecting and repairing antique radios and clocks. He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Portia Mugnolo Bahl, son George D. Bahl, daughter Adrianne (Bahl) Lamprinos, her husband Michael Lamprinos and grandchildren Matthew, Adam and Grace Lamprinos. Services will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church on Saturday, November 5th. Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:00 am followed by a service. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bryn Mawr Hospital.
