Constance G. Yaros, a Philadelphia artist for 60 years, died Thursday at Hahnemann University Hospital. She was 90.
A lifelong Philadelphia resident, Ms. Yaros was involved in portrait and landscape painting, sculpture, industrial design, fashion design and interior design. She also acted at Allen's Lane and Abington Theater companies.
For nine years, she was the personal student of Boris Blai, the founder of the Tyler School of Art at Temple University. Her career included works being commissioned by the Board of City Trusts, federal court officials, and many prominent families in the city.
Survivors include her son, Michael Yaros; daughters Aimee Silverman and Nancy Yaros; and four grandchildren.
Interment will be private. Shiva will be observed Monday and Tuesday at Silverman's home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Francisvale Home for Smaller Animals, francisvalehome.org.
