Richard Peter Iano

 Richard P. Iano (84) of Willow Grove and Wyncote PA, February 3, 2016. Husband of Mavra Simon Iano, father of Bianca Helene Iano (Ernest Simon Davis), and Joseph Richard Iano (Lesley Bain). Nonno to Allen, Paul, and Ethan. Brother of Peter Iano, Joan Manfredi, and the late Maria Iano. He also is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Graduate of Erasmus Hall High School, Brooklyn, NY, and Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. Very proud teacher at Washington Irving Elementary School, Syracuse NY, in the late 1950s. Associate Professor of education at Bloomsburg State College. Professor of education at Temple University for many years and professor emeritus.  In retirement he enjoyed playing in a senior citizens’ softball league and acting in community theaters.  Finally and as always, he continued to read, study, and write in the field of education, his lifelong passion. His students, young and old, were always his priority. Many became close friends.  A true philosopher throughout his life, he never stopped pondering the ambiguous nature of time, reality, and the universe.  A memorial celebration will be scheduled in early spring.
